Proposal · October 2026Ranking review · SEO · Google Ads

200 pages built.
Sydney's biggest searches
still can't find them.

Absolute Commercial Cleaning has done a lot right: a fast WordPress site, a page for every service, more than 160 suburb pages and a 5.0 Google rating. The gym pages already sit in the top five. But across 128 tracked searches, 84 return nothing from you in the top 100, including "commercial cleaners Sydney", "strata cleaning Sydney" and every Newcastle search. This proposal explains why, and puts ongoing SEO and Google Ads management behind the fix.

◆ What we found
6 of 128 searches on page one
22 in the top 20. Then a cliff: 47 searches where you already have a page for that exact service or suburb, and Google still shows nothing of yours in the top 100.

01 · What's Working

A solid base, and some real wins

This is not a site that needs to be thrown away. The groundwork most cleaning companies skip is already in place, and where Google has understood a page, it ranks it well. The job now is to make the rest of the site work as hard as the gym pages do.

Google rating from 16 reviews, shown on the homepage

✓ Already in place

  • ✓
A page for every service. Office, gym, childcare, strata, medical, warehouse, school, aged care, retail, factory, carpet and floor cleaning each have their own Sydney page.
  • ✓
Long, specific pages. The pages we checked run 1,300 to 2,700 words, with one clear heading each and an FAQ section.
  • ✓
Technical basics done. WordPress with Rank Math, an XML sitemap, canonical tags and business structured data.
  • ✓
Pricing on the page. Indicative price tiers and a first clean offer give buyers a reason to enquire, which also helps Google Ads convert.
  • ✓
Trust content. Case studies, a "how we manage your cleaning" page, quality and compliance standards, and 10 guides.
  • ✓
An active Google Business Profile. Rated 5.0, with hours and your phone number, appearing in Maps for your brand name.

02 · What We Found

Strong in a niche. Missing where the volume is.

We tracked 128 searches on 13 October 2026 across your services, Sydney suburbs and Newcastle. Six are on page one. Twenty two are in the top 20, where a little work can move them up. But 84, two thirds of the list, have no page of yours in the top 100, and that group holds the broad searches that bring the most enquiries.

03 · Structural Issues

The pages exist. Google isn't sure which one to rank.

The pattern in the report is unusual. It is not a missing-content problem: of the 84 searches outside the top 100, 47 already have a page written for that exact service or suburb. When a site has hundreds of pages that look alike, Google has to choose between them, and it is often choosing the wrong one, or none.

1. Google is ranking the wrong page

In these searches the page Google picked is not the one written for the search. Each one splits strength between two pages and holds the ranking back.

2. Hub pages that rank for a variation, but not the main search

Each Sydney service page ranks for an odd phrasing while the search people actually type returns nothing. That is a sign the page is not seen as the clear authority for its topic, usually because dozens of suburb pages compete with it.

⚠ Why the site is holding itself back

Facts from your website, sitemaps and the ranking report, checked 13 October 2026
  • ✕
Page sprawl. The sitemaps list 203 pages, and more than 160 of them are a service plus a suburb (office, gym, strata, childcare, medical, retail, car dealership and carpet cleaning across dozens of suburbs). Only 24 pages appear for any of the 128 searches. Google's spam policies warn against many near-identical location pages made mainly to rank, so adding more of them is not the answer; making fewer of them stronger is.
  • ✕
The homepage is not targeting "commercial cleaning". Its main heading leads with offices, gyms, strata and warehouses, and it ranks #32 for commercial cleaning Sydney and outside the top 100 for commercial cleaners Sydney and commercial cleaning services Sydney, the broadest and most valuable searches on the list.
  • ✕
No Newcastle presence at all. 30 of your 128 tracked searches are Newcastle and Hunter searches. The site mentions Newcastle once and has no page for it, so it cannot rank there.
  • ✕
No page for contracts. Contract and tender searches are where the largest, longest jobs come from. None of the four rank, and no page is written for multi-site or contract buyers.
  • ✕
Many pages are not linked from the menu or homepage. Pages such as car showroom cleaning, Liverpool office cleaning and most gym and strata suburb pages are reachable only through the sitemap, which gives Google little signal that they matter.
  • ✕
Business details are a placeholder. The structured data gives the street address as "Sydney" with postcode 2000, and the Google profile is categorised as a janitorial service. Both are easy fixes that help Google connect the site, the profile and the services.

Page sprawl counted from page-sitemap1.xml and page-sitemap2.xml, 13 October 2026. Google Search Central, spam policies (doorway abuse and scaled content abuse), developers.google.com/search/docs/essentials/spam-policies. Ranking pages from the 13 October 2026 report.

04 · What Needs To Be Addressed

Fewer, stronger pages. One page per search.

The fix is structure before volume. Every important search gets one page that clearly owns it, the strongest pages get the links and attention, and the gaps that genuinely have no page, Newcastle and contracts, get built properly.

1
Clean up the structure
First priority

Stop pages competing with each other, so Google stops guessing.

→
A search map: every one of the 128 searches assigned to one page, with no two pages chasing the same search.
→
The 7 wrong-page searches in section 03 fixed with titles, headings and internal links pointing to the right page.
→
Suburb page review using Search Console: pages with no impressions are merged into a stronger page or redirected, and the ones that earn traffic are kept and improved.
→
Menu and internal links: a service areas hub so every page that stays is linked from somewhere that matters.
2
Win the head terms
Highest volume

Point the homepage and the Sydney service pages squarely at the searches buyers type.

→
Homepage refocused on commercial cleaning in Sydney: title, main heading, opening copy and FAQs.
→
Strata, medical, childcare, school, warehouse and factory pages rewritten around the main search, with sections for the variations buyers use.
→
Page titles cleaned up: plain service and suburb names instead of "Best" and "5 Best Showroom Presentation Checks".
→
Quick wins first: the 16 searches at #11 to #20 get attention early, because they are closest to page one.
3
Build what is missing
New pages

Only the pages that genuinely do not exist yet.

→
Commercial cleaning contracts: a page for multi-site, contract and tender buyers, with how you onboard, report and audit.
→
Newcastle: a Newcastle hub and a small number of service pages for the Hunter, once you confirm the areas you service there.
→
Case studies by industry, written from your own sites, so each service page has proof attached.
→
Guides that answer buyer questions, linked to the matching service page.
4
Authority & Google profile
Ongoing

The signals that tell Google you are a real, trusted Sydney business.

→
Google Business Profile: categories reviewed, services listed, regular posts and photos, and a review request process after each new site starts.
→
Structured data fixed so your business details match the profile exactly.
→
Directories and citations cleaned up so your name and phone number match everywhere.
→
Relevant links from industry, supplier and local business sources, earned rather than bought.

Why we would not just add more pages. The site already has more than 200 pages. What it lacks is a clear owner for each search. Consolidating also makes Google Ads cheaper, because Ads rewards landing pages that match the search closely.

05 · Google Ads

Be on page one while SEO catches up

SEO on the broad searches takes months. Google Ads puts you in front of contract buyers now. We aim the budget at the searches in section 02 where you have no organic position, so you are not paying for clicks you already win for free, like the gym searches.

✕ What we keep out
  • Home and residential searches: house cleaning, end of lease, bond and carpet steam cleaning for homes
  • Job seekers: cleaning jobs, cleaner vacancies and contractor work
  • Cheap and one-off: "cheap", "one off clean" and DIY supplies
  • Areas you do not serve, with spend moved to whichever areas produce enquiries
✓ How we steer it to real contracts
  • Conversion tracking on quote forms, calls and email clicks, verified before ads go live
  • Site type and size on every enquiry, so we can see which campaigns bring contracts and which bring small jobs
  • Your first clean offer used in ad copy, where it helps
  • Weekly search term review for the first 90 days

FAQs

Questions you might have

We already have hundreds of pages. Why aren't we ranking?

Because Google is not sure which page to rank for many searches. In 47 of the searches outside the top 100 you already have a page for that service or suburb. When many similar pages compete, Google spreads its trust thin or picks the wrong page. The first job is to give each search one clear page.

Will you delete our suburb pages?

Not without your approval, and not the ones that work. Norwest and Smithfield already rank #5. We use Search Console to see which pages earn impressions; pages that earn nothing are merged into a stronger page and redirected so no visitor hits a dead link. Every change is listed for you first.

Do we need a new website?

No. The site is built well on WordPress and the content is long and specific. This proposal works with what you have.

Should we target Newcastle?

Only if you service it. 30 of your tracked searches are in Newcastle and the Hunter, and you have nothing there today. If you do take work there, a Newcastle hub and a Newcastle Ads campaign are the quickest way in. If you don't, we drop those searches and spend the time on Sydney.

When do the ads start?

In month 1, once conversion tracking is checked and you have approved the campaigns. The first campaigns focus on the broad and contract searches where you have no organic position.

Who will we deal with?

Daniel Shaw is your contact from day one. His direct line and email are below, and every question on scope, numbers or progress goes straight to him.
